Shout

Shouting happens when air is passed through the vocal cords more forcefully than normal, or when children throw things inside the house. There are many types of shouts, including: bellow, clamor, cry, roar, scream, shriek, yell, and stain remover. As infants, screaming is every human’s primary form of communication. Although this can seem troublesome, could you imagine if they whispered instead? All you'd hear is conspiratorial murmuring on the other end of a baby monitor, which they should make a scary movie about. Shouts are also used in art, most commonly in music, most commonly in Europe, most commonly in Northern Europe, most commonly in Finland, most commonly by this guy:

Elmo "Cookie" Monsterola, Sesamurder Street

Loud vocalizations have even found their way into the visual arts. It has been theorized that Edvard Munch’s painting “The Scream” is a depiction of a person hollering or yelling, but the artist died in 1944 so we can't be sure.
